amazngj's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stream of Consciousness This should be my first truly random flowing entyr. My goal is to not look at the page at all as I type so all bets for pounctuation, capitalization and spelling are out the window. At times, you may notice that I have forgotten the topic of even the current sentance as I twist in a new direction, so don't expoect this to make any sense. I don't have a topic in mind, I am completely allowing a free flow of ideas. They arn't coming. ..................................Liz doesn't have any ideas for me to type about either, so this may be shorter than I thought. I rearranged the room while Liz was visiting my parents, I tried to make room for the crib she was bringing home. it incvolved the disection of a foosabll table and the containment of a lot of crap and memories and there doesn't seem to be any more room in there than there was before. So we have a crib and most of the random little things we need. We took all my birthday money and went to target and I planned on spending fifty on baby things and fifty on me. I couldn'rt fuind andthig that I wanted so I did buy a universal remote control, but we spent the rest on baby stuff and bought everything we wanted that cost under ten bucks. I'm sure there is more, but it was everything on our list at the time. we also bought the outfit we will bring th baby home in, a cute little "Baby Pooh" outfit. Baby Pooh is the same as regular Pooh but with a larger head. That makes it cuter. I am trying to bust my ass at work because I've been told twice in the past week that if I do things right over the next month, I will be promoted. There are going to be five new stores opening in the east region on january 19th. These stores are mostly in the PA, MD, DE and VA area. The experienced GM's that fill these new store openings will report to their stores on or arund December 1st. That will leave five other openings that, due to the ripple effect, they expect me to become one of those stores Managers. I have no idea where those stores would be or when this might happen, but they are looking at the end of this month. They did say that if I don't fill one of those spots that other openings would be available in Feb, March and April, as most of our new stores open in the spring, but they seem to be pushing for these December openings. Now that this is fially so close, I am starting to think about my next job for the first time. Actually ever. That terrifies me. Sure, I have taken charge of the stores in which I've been assigned, but some one else was ultimately in charge and if I didn't get to something, or didn't do something, there was someone else who would get it. Someone else to guide me and keep me properly focussed. I won't have that as my own manager, and I'll be responsible for doing that with my three or four managers. It's just suddenly intimindating to me. I still want to do it, don't get me wrong, but the weight of the job is starting to hit me. They've also made reference to putting me in charge of a 2.5 million dollar store. That's the volume of Dover's store, which is a pretty big store, the fourth busiest in the region. I would almost prefer to start off in a smaller volume store while I got my feet wet, before they made me the leader of a hugely busy store. although that is where all of my experience has been, the high volume stores. I want to sell my video collection. I have 145 VHS videos in perfect condition, and I've watched one of them in the past six monthes. maybe two. The few videos that I would see myself wanting to watch again, I would buy on DVD with the money I made from selling the videos, but it is an economic as well as a spatial concern. I don't have room for all of these videos. I was thinking, that since VHS tapes are usually fuifteen to twenty dollars each, I could sell each of mine for five dollars each. Buy four, get the fifth one free. ($4 each, a savings of $5) Buy 12, get eight more free ($3 each, a savings of $40) buy 20, get twenty free ($2.50 each, a savings of $100) or buy the whole damn lot of them for only $250 dollars (save $475!) I'll post the list of videos some time this week, and you can buy them or refer people to them, or sell them on e-bay and split the money with me. I don't know how e-bay works, so thats whyy I haven't gone there. My parents are coming for thanksgiving. My brother isn't. I'm looking forward to spending Xmas at home with just my wife and unborn baby and our puppies. Don't call us that day, it's a family day. Liz just brought me a coke and she's cleaning the living room, which is on my chore list, so I am going to get up and clean now, so I don't feel guilty.I'll writer more soon.
