amazngj's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your Tax Dollars at Work Well, as you can see, I've been doing some more playing around with my site. I'll guide you through some of the changes, they may or may not be permanent. First, you can see our two flags at the top of the screen here. One leads to whitehouse.org, a satire site full of whatever will get the biggest laughes at the current administration. The other is a link to the actual whitehouse.gov page. Obviously the real whitehouse is indicated by the flag in distress. I removed a banner advertising the earth that I had equipped with a link to e-mail mother nature, but apparently Old Man Winter is a jealous bastard and was taking the whole thing wrong, so I removed the link. I was finally successful in stealing google's search engine, it works, so give it a go. (If you search for amazngj, and remove omitted results, number five is actually my page:the others all do refer to me though) Now I'm most proud of the pictures I've stolen to represent the other sites I've referred you to. First of all, I found out that I don't need to host pictures or pay anything, I can go to any website and right click on the picture to find out where they keep their picture, and then copy that address into my journal, and I can steal their picture, and they never even know that its gone. Cool, huh?! Anyway, Hollie's picture I just stole from her site, I figured she thought it represented her well enough, why not honor her by representing her the way she represents herself. Okay, so it's the easy way out, but Hollie, let me know if you mind, and I'll find another picture for you. Then for Linda (since yesterday was her B-Day)I put up a B-day poster there for her, but I don't think she saw it. I was having a hard time getting that one to consistently load anyway. Linda didn't have any pictures on her site, so I was forced to do some thinking for her picture. So, I turned to my stolen google, and typed in "celebrity Linda" (not in quotes but those words). The number one google response was a Linda Hamilton page complete with T2 pictures. This, in my mind seemed a perfect fit. But, as always, Linda, if you object, I'll find another picture. Finding a ferret picture worthy of Ben took a few more hits down on my "Famous Ferret Pic" search, which, BTW gets you some scary links. Hopefully Ben will also enjoy his representaion. I really wish I knew more people's web sites because setting up their links has been fun. I may have to start linking to random people's sites with pictures just for my own entertainment. By the way, the last thing I want to mention is the way I figured out how to crack into the google button. I didn't change the function, it still gives you the infinate list of sites rather than direct you right there, all I changed were the words. 3:00 - 18 August 2003 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
