amazngj's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What you need to know Alright, I've been playing in these profile things for an hour now, and I don't pretend to understand how to do any of this, but I've updated the important stuff, and successfully recorded my first entry. Now, I'll introduce myself and familiarize you with some of the basic things I may be ranting about. First, there's myself. My birth name is James, my parents called me Jay, so everyone called me Jay up until I was 17. Then, I decided to have a few different names in a few different settings, so to my friends I was Jay, my acquantences, I was James, and In the Theater I was JK. When I moved to Delaware, I went with James. Then I moved to Maine and became JK again, but I moved back to DE, and had to return to James even though I prefferred JK. I got drunk one April evening at TGI Fridays and decided I wanted to be Jimmy, but that didn't last long. So, I'm still James to everyone currently in my life but I still enjoy when I answer the phone and they ask for Jay, because I know it's a friendly voice from the past. Some of my friends also call me Max, but that's another story for another time. My wife's name is Liz. We met in May of 2000 but she wouldn't date me until August. I proposed in january of 2002, and we married in may of 2003. She is my best friend and my soul twin, and I wouldn't know how to live without her. My brother is Tom, he's an actor, mainly in musical theater, but he's an excellent singer, dancer and comedian. He'll be as famous as he wants to be, mark my words. Liz's brother is Ben. I don't really know what his ultimate life goal is, but he can do about anything on a computer, check out his site - ferretman.com or check out his roommate Darrell's site to see a decent picture of him.(He's the one on the right) My parents are John and Betzi, they may come up from time to time. They are conservative, traditional, and pretty stressed out most of the time. Liz's parents are Ron and Suzanne, and the exact opposite of my parents. We live closer to them, so I'm more likely to mention them from time to time. Pets. Lexi is a seven year old Pomeranian. She is shy in a crowd, but the first one to hop in your lap and flip on to her belly for some much needed attention. She's the quiet one. Miko is a one year old Beagle. She's the loud one. She bullies everyone else and steals everyone's food. Playful, energetic and starved for attention. Kahlua is the only other male in the house with me. the dominant kitten, bullies everyone but Miko, but I think he's just waiting until Puberty hits next year. Lillette is the smart kitten, first to use the litterbox, but always waits for Kahlua to do something crazy before she follows. She pauses to think it through while Kahlua slides headfirst into unexplored territory. Friends are pretty easy to sum up at the moment, work keeps me busy enough to have very few social interactions. Long term friends are almost exclusively limited to Dennis and Virgil. Virgil and his wife, Erin, live very far away with their two kids. Erin was the minister for our wedding, and Virgil was my college roommate. Dennis was my best friend throughout high school and beyond. We met at summer camp where we were counselors. We lost touch right before he died, but now that he's back, we're trying to stay in contact more often. More on that later. Local friends are Hollie and Daniel. Both of whom work with Liz, and we've known for under a year, but they are always great company, the kind of friends that can stop by at two in the morning, sit down on the couch while you watch some mindless TV Game shows for three hours and then they can get up and leave without anyone saying a word, and everybody is comfortable enough to do that. When we do speak, it's always an entertaining and thought provoking conversation based in reality, centered in surreal and rotating on an axis of dimentia. It's great to have friends that can accept your ideosynchrasies over a game of cards and a box of goldfish crackers into the wee small hours of the morning. Linda is another good friend. She happens to be Daniel's Mom, but she really fits in the group as more of a peer than parent. maybe I'm getting old, or maybe she's just cool enough to pull it off. But, I'd never admit to getting old anyway. I feel weird not saying more about Liz after talking so much about everyone else, but Liz is never comfortable with me describing her in any recognizable way to anyone, let alone over the anonymous internet. So, I am going to describe her as such: Picture the perfect woman, in whatever terms you consider perfect, picture that person to the point that you can sense their personality. Now, picture that that perfect woman is picturing her perfect man, the man she considers to be the ideal of all men. Now picture that this man, has in his mind, the concept of a woman so perfect in absolutely every way, he considers her completely and totally unobtainable, because he doesn't think himself worthy. Do you have the idea of this thrice perfect woman? She's the one who agreed to marry me and make my life complete. And now, I'm going to put the dogs in their crates, slip quietly into bed with her, and fall asleep with her in my arms. Good Night. 03:01 - 14 July 2003 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
